These guys get downed a lot by people for some reason, at least in my experience. Maybe it's because they're music isn't "serious" enough, or maybe it's because of Gibb's voice being so different. Whatever the reason, it is my opinion those people are wrong. They write awesome music, and they always perform it well. You can't hear a Bee Gees song and not dance around in your seat a little.
One thing that sticks out to me in this song is something most people might not even notice. Tinking away the whole song is what sounds like a triangle. It's the three short tinking sounds you hear on every beat of the song, 1e& 2e& and so on... You wouldn't think something like that would make a big difference, but I'll bet if it wasn't there, you'd notice the song sounding different. It's that kind of attention to detail that sets the great songs (and cover bands?) apart from the rest. That one simple thing can make a huge difference in a song.
The band has lots of hits. Their biggest is probably "Stayin' Alive". I think everyone has probably heard that song at some point. I like it a lot, too, but I went with this one because it just grooves hard. It was a Hot 100 #1 in 1976, released on Children of the World. The song was also the first #1 for the band to introduce the world to Barry Gibb's trademark falsetto as a lead vocal.
