This is the first single off of Paisley's upcoming album, Wheelhouse. It doesn't release until April 9, but I'm already looking forward to it. I don't think I've ever anticipated the release of a music album before. I always enjoy seeing what clever tricks he has up his sleeve, though. The song isn't really much like anything that he's done before. It's somewhat similar to "American Saturday Night" or "Welcome to the Future" with a slightly more pop feel. I like the concept, and I dig the music. No matter how different from his usual fare it is, it's still definitely a Brad Paisley song.
The song has clever lyrics and a clever concept that are part of Paisley's signature, and you can hear that same old twang in his voice and guitar. It's upbeat, like some of his other hits, and it's uplifting, like most of his music. The idea that getting out of your own familiar space allows you to appreciate home that much more is not something you often hear in country music, nor is it an idea promoted by the genres fans, but it is one in which ti would benefit many of them to invest some thought. We could all use a look at the larger picture that makes up our world.
