This was the band's first #1 on Billboard's mainstream chart listing. Right from the very beginning of the song, the screaming guitar riff really catches me. This is another band that I kind of had this misconception of being too heavy for my taste. They're definitely right on the border of what I can handle in the "metal" department, though.
I had a friend a few years ago that listened to a lot of really heavy, screamo type music. I kind of got in the habit of associating that style to any band I knew he liked. Maybe I shouldn't lump everything together under that same guise. He was pretty adamant about sticking to that one style, though. This song does prove that idea wrong.
