Presley has a lot of records and firsts to his name, and the Christmas music arena is not different. This song is the lead track from Elvis' Christmas Album, the best-selling Christmas album in the U.S. The song, written by the Leiber and Stoller team, has pretty much become a rock & roll Christmas standard. I haven't ever seen or heard the recording, but there is a version from a performance on David Letterman's show that brought together Brian Setzer, Paul Shaffer, The Honey Drippers, and Robert Plant. That sounds like a pretty epic combo, and I wish I could find it somewhere.
Update: Sometimes you have an idea of how a certain thing will be in your head, and then, there's not way for it to live up to that idea. However, sometimes things just aren't good to begin with... That happens to be the case for the above mentioned version of this song with the "supergroup". I'm going to hope that part of the problem comes from the poor quality of the video, but it can't be all blamed on the quality. I disliked the version so much after I found it that I decided not to post it.
