Hutcherson is an accomplished jazz vibraphone and marimba musician. Nash is a HIGHLY accomplished jazz drummer. Modern Drummer named him Jazz's Most Valuable player, having recorded on over 400 albums. This isn't just a large number of recordings for a drummer; it's one of the longest discographies in all of jazz.
I know this isn't a full song, and I don't post nearly enough jazz on my blog. I couldn't turn this one away, though. Both of these musicians are in the zone here. Even if you're not a drummer you can appreciate the things that Nash does in his turns, and it's easy to see that Hutcherson is nowhere near out of ideas when his turns are up, often sounding like the time constraints are forcing him to stop in the middle of a thought. The trading of fours like this is just like a conversation, sometimes the other person will cut you off.
