I Won't Give Up (Jason Mraz cover) - Titanium

So, these guys are apparently New Zealand's first boy band. I think they're a little behind the curve, but better late than never I guess. They didn't turn out anything fantastic, but it's non-too-shabby either. I mean, they're no 'N Sync, but their harmonies are in the right places and pretty strong.

The song of course was originally performed by Jason Mraz (see his version below). Mraz was the co-writer on the song. He does a lot of his own writing and co-writing. The song has made it to #8 on the Hot 100, making it his second top ten. The first was "I'm Yours". He's a clever lyricist and talented vocalist.

This song in particular really has his mark on it. I think it's in the way he carries the melody and the timbre of his voice. I looked through several covers online, and I have yet to find one that really catches the same vibe or a better one than his. Even the live acoustic performance below has a better energy than any other performance. I chose the one above based on the multiple harmonies that I did enjoy, despite the fact that the version didn't quite catch the same groove.
