Once again, it's proven that the right spin on a song can make it good or even better than it already was. I can't decide which is the case with this tune. The catch with the original cut is the humor in the lyrics. You get part of that in this tune, but at the same time, you get awesome horn lines... So, yeah, it's better. I really like that the drummer is standing up and playing so little (instrumentation that is), much like a traditional brass band. The ending of the video is good, too.
Overall, the song has reached incredible success, having been released on original artist Macklemore's independent label. The song topped out at #1 in both the US and the UK. It's the first independently released single to make that climb since Lisa Loeb's "Stay" in 1994. It's inclusion in the trailer for the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson movie The Internship didn't hurt either.
