This song is a reminder to us to look around and see, just as the song says, "how far we've come." It's video (below) looks at some of the greatest advancements in different parts of human existence. It also serves as a reminder to realize how much further we can progress. We've come a long way in a lot of areas, but at the same hand, we've still got a long way to go in others.
The song appeared on the 2007 release, Exile on Mainstream. It fell just short of the Hot 100's Top 10, but it did reach #3 on the Adult Pop Songs. In other areas of the world, it was the most played song in Australia the year following its release. I personally love this song. If I haven't heard it for a while, it seems to just get that much better each time I rediscover it.
