Take the Money and Run - Steve Miller Band

There are few songs out there that have a drum beat recognizable enough for people to pick it out by itself. This is one of those songs. You can play that opening drum beat and somebody will always go "hoo hoo". It doesn't even have to be the exact same drumbeat. As long as it's something similar and has those swishing hi-hat sounds, people will accept it as the opening to this song.

The song contains lots of references to Texas, both direct and indirect. The song's protagonists, Billy Joe and Bobby Sue, sound to be very similar to the bandits Bonnie and Clyde, who were from Dallas. The song also mentions "old El Paso", a town in Texas, and a detective, Billie Mack, who is from the state, too.
