The original cut of this song by Rick Springfield (see the video below) was a good song. I just like the extra kick that Frickin' A gives it. It's definitely more of a pop-punk kind of arrangement. The band had a pretty impressive run with this cover, too. They're the only band to ever be placed on a Now! That's What I Call Music album while on an independent record label; they did that with this song. They also hit #9 on Billboard's Heatseeker chart for their home city of Cincinnati, OH.
The only thing I really have a problem with there is that the girl that the lead singer is already (apparently) with in this video is way hotter than the girl he's after. I don't know why he's so enamored with the girl he's chasing. Maybe it's the eighties style she's got, or maybe he just wants his buddy's girlfriend.
