Kiss from a Rose (Seal cover) - Allyria

This song kicks so much harder than the original, obviously. I've got respect for what Seal has done, but this is just a better arrangement of the song in my opinion. The dynamic contrast between the verses and the chorus is great. The heavy electric guitar just comes in and takes over. It's pretty close to the same form as the original. It's the feel and the sound that's different.

"Kiss" is also one of the only few good things that came out of Batman Forever. Though the song wasn't written for the film, it was re-released in 1995 on the soundtrack, the year after it appeared on Seal II. It was its use in the movie that helped it achieve its familiarity and success, helping it to win Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards in 1996.
