This is such a great laid back song. The video is perfect. It's exactly the kind of song I'd expect to be played at a backyard hangout. With its content and sound, it was the perfect opening song for the film, I Love You, Man. It's the song that sets the tone for the movie and it's just the right tone for it, too.
Latch Key Kid, much like Five for Fighting, refers not to a band but a single artist. Gavin Heaney, who uses the name as a performance alias, is from Manhattan Beach, CA. He has seven albums to his credit, and this song appears on his third, All Becomes One, as a bonus track.
