Let it Snow - Dean Martin

Very few people could swing it like Dean. He wasn't the first artist to record the song, but his rendition is, by far, one of the most popular. He actually recorded the song twice. The first time he took it to the studio was in 1959 for the album, A Winter Romance. Seven years later, he'd record the song again for 1966's The Dean Martin Christmas Album. Another Rat Pack alumni would record it even earlier; Frank Sinatra cut the tune in 1948.

The song was written in California in July 1945. Composer Jule Styne and lyricist Sammy Cahn wrote the song in the middle of a heatwave while wishing for cooler weather. The close association of snow and Christmas lands the song a spot in most people most-memorable Christmas songs list, but, like several other "Christmas" songs, this one doesn't mention the holiday once.
