You get a double helping of Muppets if you watch the whole video here. The first song is the one that prompted this post. I really wish I knew who the band is that cuts the tracks for the Electric Mayhem or who does the arrangements; they're often my favorite take on whatever song they cover. This one is no different. It's very driving and the horns throughout the song make it something different.
The song was originally written by Marvin Brodie and Johnny Marks, who, despite being Jewish, was a Christmas-hit songwriter. Marks wrote, among others, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," and "Holly Jolly Christmas." Marks also served as director of ASCAP from 1957 to 1961 and before that founded St. Nicholas Music in 1949. His brother-in-law, Robert L. May, originally created Rudolph, the subject of one of his most famous songs, writing the original poem.
