To be 100% honest, I don't think this is one of this duos best songs musically. Some of their other pieces are much better in form and structure. The reason I like this song so much is because of the message. They are trying to push the idea of respecting your elders. I'm a big fan of that, though, we all slip on it every now and then. The scars you pick up in life are a lot more meaningful than the ink you choose to have.
This song appears on MG's album of the same name. The song was written by Tony Lane, and while that name may not be familiar, some of the other writers for the album may be. The album saw songs from writers that were members of Pirates of the Mississippi, Gibson/Miller Band, and Little Texas.
