This is another great take on a Christmas song by the Jim Henson crew. Above is the intro to The Muppet Family Christmas (which I mentioned in the post on December 1), and below you can find a studio recording of the same song by The Muppets as well. If you haven't seen this special from the eighties, last time I checked you could watch it in parts on YouTube. The video above is actually the entire first part, so, I assume the rest of it is still there, too. Do yourself a favor and watch it. It will surely become one of you favorite holiday classics. BTW, get used to seeing The Muppets in posts for the holidays.
The song originally comes from the Broadway musical, Mame. It's another one of those Christmas classics that's been covered by dozens of artists, but this Muppet version is my favorite. The original performance was handled by none other than Mrs. Murder She Wrote herself, Angela Lansbury. She's had her share of singing roles in movies, too, most notably as the voice of Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast.
