I think this tune captures the feel of Christmas pretty well...in a creepy kind of way, a very different perspective for sure. The song takes a look at Christmas from the view of someone who has never experienced it before. It's not easy to imagine something so familiar being viewed for the first time, but composer Danny Elfman manages to give us a glimpse into the mind of Jack Skellington who is doing just that.
This version of the song appeared on a CD that was included with a special edition, anniversary release of the movie. The album contained five covers: two of "This Is Halloween," "Sally's Song," "Kidnap the Sandy Claws," and the one included here. This in my opinion is the best one. It's the best song in the movie to begin with, and I think that FOB did a has a great interpretation of it.
