Modern Day Bonnie & Clyde - Travis Tritt

You don't hear a lot of dobro in modern music, and that makes it even more noticeable when you do. It's put to great use in this tune, as is the harmonica. Both instruments are two of my favorites when they're performed well, but I rarely get the chance to perform with people that play either of them. Still I can listen to them all day long.

This song is a great story set to great music. I like the way it starts in a lower register of Tritt's voice, jumping to a more powerful one when the music comes in full throttle. The groove is one of my favorite to play, and the vocal range is perfect for me, too. The song appeared on his 2002 album, Down the Road I Go, and it was a Top Ten hit for him that year.
