Sound of Silence - Simon & Garfunkle

This was just a few years ago during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Anniversary concert. It's like these two never stopped singing together. Those vocals are perfect. I swear that the way they sing the harmonies makes it sound as if there are several vocalists working together instead of just the two. As a singer, I can only hope to one day achieve something like that. Then again, when you've performed with a person or group of people for as long as these two performed together, it's like riding a bike. You just never forget how to perform with them. After jamming for just a short period of time, all the little quirks and tendencies of the players start to come back to you and feel familiar again. That's not to say that they didn't work hard to get there in the beginning.

The song was written by Simon after the assassination of President Kennedy. It has, over the years, become the duo's second most popular song, next to "Bridge Over Troubled Water." The B-Side of the single was "We've Got a Groovey Thing Going." The single went to the top spot of the Hot 100, and fared well in several other countries.
