You can see the original lineup of Lonestar in this video, including John Rich (of Big & Rich fame) and the original lead singer Richie MacDonald. Rich left the band after their second studio album, but I can't seem to find any specifics on that departure. MacDonald left the band more recently to pursue a solo career. The band replaced him and is still soldiering down the same path as always. Lead singer changes in bands typically don't go all that well, especially when the change is made for any other reason than the singer's death. Journey has done OK with it, and things didn't go all that bad for Van Halen, but you get the idea.
This song is on the lesser end of the popular scale, but I think the groove laid down is a good one. It's about as straight as swing can feel. I don't really know how else to explain it. It's just because the groove is so tight between the drums and bass I think. It definitely still shuffles, but it is so solid in this recording. A surprising fact about this one, at least for me, is that it was written by Bryan Adams. It never quite cracked the Top 10, but a lot of good songs never do.
