Extended from Brian's List

Beyond "More Than a Feeling", this is the only Boston song with which I'm pretty familiar. The chorus is what sales this song. Although, the line "take you by surprise" is kind of creepy, even though you know what he means. In all honesty, I don't really like the rest of the song all that well, but the chorus makes it worth listening to the whole song. The solo work is great, too, but again, that plays over the chorus, so, we're back to square one there. Still, this is probably one of my favorite power ballads ever, just because of the chorus.

The song was written by the group's founding member, Tom Scholz. The album on which the song appeared, Third Stage, in 1986 after six years of recording. Around 1984, a bootleg of the song was made available to several radio stations that made regular play of the song. After its actual release, the song quickly became one of the band's best known.
