Let Your Love Flow - Bellamy Brothers

This song came up on my MP3 player this morning, and I hadn't heard it in a long time before that. I always love when you hear a song you've forgotten about and get to experience it almost like new all over again. I'm the worst in the world to keep listening to the same music over and over until someone introduces me to something new or an artist I like comes out with a new CD. It's not that I'm opposed to new music, I just don't know how to go about finding new stuff I'm going to like. I just wait for someone to tell me I should check something out before I do. That mindset is part of the reason I started this blog, the discovery of new music, as well as sharing my favorites with readers.

This was the duo's, actual brothers David Milton and Homer Howard Bellamy, first #1 song. It hit the top of the Hot 100 in 1976, but it only made a #21 hit on the country charts. It wasn't until the last year of that same decade that they would score a top country hit. They won that spot with a song that has one of the more clever hooks I've ever heard, "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me". Following the success of that song, the Bellamys would find #1 country hits with other songs like "Redneck Girl" in 1982, "I Need More of You" in 1985, and "Kids of the Baby Boom" in 1986.
