Peggy Sue - Buddy Holly

There's no mistaking the reference Brian is making here. Holly's "Peggy Sue" is one of his biggest hits. The song is so simple. There's not really a solo or a bridge. It's really just that same part over and over. The drums aren't even changing. It's monotonous, but it's catchy. It was so catchy that it grabbed the #3 spot on the charts.

I remember an episode of Quantum Leap from when I was a kid that involved this song. Now, I realize what I'm about to write will make no sense to anyone that hasn't seen the show, but I don't care. Ziggy directed Al and Sam to save a young girl from marrying the wrong man. After he had saved her, Sam still didn't leap. Right at the end of the episode, they encounter a young Buddy Holly singing "Piggy Sue" to a pig on the farm where he lived. Sam suggested that he try out "Peggy Sue" instead. He then leaped on to his next adventure. Oh, boy!
