April's Theme: Music from the Movies
Two of my favorite things are movies and music. I've decided to combine those two things this month in my blog. I'm not limiting myself to orchestral scores or movie themes. The only prerequisite is that the song has appeared in a film. I've done posts in the past with arrangers like Danny Elfman and John Williams, and I've done posts with songs that have appeared in movies without being arranged specifically for it. I think I've got the majority of the soundtrack for the movie I Love You, Man on my blog, actually. This isn't really new ground for me. I've just decided to devote an entire month to the concept.
Music has much more of an effect on our emotions than what we're actually seeing on the screen. There is a great article you can read over at Cracked that is entertaining and somewhat educational on the matter of how much of an effect music can have on our brains.
