The harmonies on this tune are ridiculous for a live version. This husband and wife combo are spot on with their vocal parts. The song was co-written by Jim Collins another artist I like, David Lee Murphy. I'll have one of Murphy's songs up tomorrow. The song's lyrics are a little simpler than what I normally care for, but the song is extremely catchy, and I like the topic.
It kind of goes with yesterday's song, too in that it covers a topic that is one of those heart racing moments in life. Yesterday's song was about telling someone how you really feel about them the first time, and this one is about that first kiss. There's always that moment or two of doubt where you wonder if this is really the right timing, but you'll never know until you make that leap. My first kiss was that way.
I had been seeing a girl for a while, been out a few times. I was leaving her parents' house one night, and she looked at me and said, "So, are you ever gonna kiss me?". Before I could fire away with one of my self-proclaimed witty remarks, she decided she didn't want that kind of answer and did the one thing she knew would shut me up.
