Here's a newer song that fits the bill. This one is all about what it's like to be out there on the road. I don't have any experience with this on the scale that Allan does of course, but even on a small scale playing shows on the weekends is hard and wares on you pretty quickly. I'd play music for a lot less than I usually ask if it wasn't for moving all the equipment, driving to shows and rehearsals, buying new equipment, etc, and in my position you have to deal with booking shows, handling money, writing checks, hauling equipment...and the list goes on. It's pretty common to hear musicians say they don't get paid to play; they're getting paid for all that other stuff, and I agree. I'd gladly play for free. At least when you get to the point Allan is at you have people to do a lot of that for you.
The song has a very AC/DC vibe to it in ways, which is just fine with me. This was the title track of Allan's seventh studio album. It hit the shelves in 2007. Three singles were released from the album, and this one was not one of them. It's one of the better up-tempo songs on the album, though. I feel like it probably would've fared well as a single, personally.
