Heatherly's music is like the love child of Elvis Presley and Brian Setzer. He has that great rockabilly sound I like. He even has the Presley look down pretty well. If you want to go even further with the comparison, his music's content is reminiscent of the King. Despite a great sound and some good songs, he never gained the popularity he deserved. The most of his fame was garnered by his cover of "Flower's on the Wall", originally performed by The Oak Ridge Boys.
As much as I like the song, it's the message that made me post it. I wrote yesterday about being responsible with your message. In this song, the narrator steals - well, "borrows" - a car. I would never agree with this type of behavior, of course, but at the same time, I don't have the problem with it that I have with the Underwood song I mentioned in yesterday's post. This song is obviously comedic! Plus, in the end, the car thief gets what's coming to him. That's the difference here. Underwood's song sounds like a serious suggestion, Heatherly's song is intended to be humorous, very obviously.
