Float On - Modest Mouse

I've been attempting to listen to less popular/mainstream music recently to bring something new to this blog. I love to introduce people to some of my favorites that they may never had heard before, but I also like discovering new music myself. I find that the "indie" or "alternative" stations on just about any internet radio will help with that. That's how I found this band.

Their name was pulled from the Virginia Wolfe story, "The Mark on the Wall", where Wolfe makes a reference to "modest, mouse-colored people". Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 and have been playing since. This particular song was written by three members of the group and nominated for a Grammy in 2005. As you may know from reading previous blogs, I'm a big fan of clever album titles, and the album from which this song was pulled is pretty good: Good News for People Who Love Bad News.
