There's a long version and a short version of this song. This is the long version. It's really just a lot of extra guitar work and solos right up until the end. Then the band picks up the tempo. They don't quite double time it right away, but it gets there eventually. This song came to mind as I was contemplating a motorcycle ride. It's getting close to that time of year when it'll be too cold to ride. We're not quite there, yet, but it is close, and I'm beginning to wish that I had ridden more this summer.
I've played this song with a couple of different bands and getting it started is always the hardest part. If you'll notice, the kick drum that starts the song off is kicking on beats two and four. The kick drum in 99.9% of all popular music kicks on beats one and three. This change at the beginning of the song really tends to throw guitar players off their game. It's a strange feel indeed. The song appeared on Foghat's 1975 album, Fool for the City, and it was a #20 hit for the group.
