I really like the idea of the cover these guys had. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of the execution, though. The mix is a little off, not giving enough volume to the guitar and too much to the drums. You also can't hear the low end from the original either, and while I'd like to hear some funky, rock bass going on behind what the duo is doing, the bottom end of the song seems empty. I do like the idea of putting more of a back beat in this tune, though.

The song was original released by Mars in 2010 as a promo, but later became the second single from his album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Mars was a co-writer on the song with the writing team of Brody Brown, Claud Kelly, and Andrew Wyatt, known as The Smeezingtons. It reportedly took the writing group two months to come up with the song's line, "but you won't do the same", the piece that tied the conflict within all together.
