This is, obviously, a paradoy of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know". I think this is pretty clever, especially the Lucas response. The melody is catchy, as is the use of the xylophone, just as in the original. Gotye's - an Australian-Belgian singer - original song made it all the way to #1 on the charts. It was written and performed by the artist. A lot of critics say it's reminiscent of some of Sting's work, and I can kind of hear that in places, but I can't see that he has the same sense of groove as Sting. I honestly don't care for the song; it's the subject matter and humor that lured me to this one.
I'm not sure which side of the Star Wars argument I fall on here, but I'm really not that heated in the discussion at all. I think that Lucas can do whatever he wants with the series; it's his creation. No, it may not be what all the fans want, but it is what it is. I've seen plenty of reincarnations of properties I loved as a kid that I felt like got butchered, but somebody owned the rights to those properties and was able to do what they wanted. Even if it's not the original creator that has the rights, he/she sold those rights to someone else, and they may regret it someday, but again, tough luck!
