How You Remind Me - Nickelback

There's a lot of hatred out there for this band, but when they released this single, they were still popular with the masses. Billboard listed this as the top rock song of the decade in which it was released. It was their first song of theirs I heard. I had a friend of mine burn me a CD - yeah, we still did that back then - of stuff from his computer he thought I might like. I did like this song a lot at the time, and I still think it's a good tune. A lot of other people must have agreed, because the album on which it appeared, Silver Side Up, went Platinum six times in the US.


The song was later released in a "gold mix". It basically is the same release with the heavy guitar distortion removed from the chorus. While it sounds a little empty in comparison to the more familiar version, I like that you can hear the harmonies more clearly, and I think it holds a more consistent feel with the same tone all the way through.
