I have no idea what you would call this type of music, not that it matters. This is a very strange amalgamation of instruments on stage for sure. I like this song quite a bit, but it really feels like something is missing. I want something banging harder on the off beats I think. That would probably fix it. I do enjoy the trumpet solo, though.
In 2011 the Ed Sharpe and company joined Old Crow Medicine Show and Mumford and Sons on the Railroad Revival Tour. It's a fitting match I think. All three bands are their own brand of unique, blending folk, rock, bluegrass, and some all new elements. I do have to say, though, that while I do enjoy the music, I can't hardly stand to watch the two lead singers on stage. I get that they're just getting in to the music and enjoying themselves, but...
