This is my first post about a cover song that I've already posted about the original. I posted about The Fray's original version in July this past year. I like both, and they both feel very different. As you know if you've read many posts here, I'm not a fan of screamo stuff, but it's used pretty minimally and tastefully here. The original was a little better crafted where this version sounds a little too similar and repetitive all the way through. I give the original a few points over this one, but I like both. The drive and extra power behind the groove here is contagious.
A Day to Remember started out in Ocala, FL. Founded in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs, the band caught attention by blending metalcore and pop-punk. In this song, the metalcore comes in the screaming vocals, and the pop punk makes up the rest of the song.
