Smoma is a guitar, trumpet and vocal duet. You can read all about them on their webpage bio. That's a link to a PDF file, but it's totally OK to download. It has my seal of approval. I really dig the sexy vibe they produce on this song. The muted trumpet goes a long way in helping with that, as does the singer's voice. I'd love to see some comments below on other music that is similar to this. I love that smokey jazz sound. I just have lot of trouble finding it.
"Sunshine" was originally written and recorded by Bill Withers in 1971 on the album, Just As I Am. The song was Withers breakthrough hit, reaching #3 on the Hot 100. The song also featured Donald "Duck" Dunn and had string arrangements written by Booker T. Jones. Those two would later collaborate on many, many albums, as two pieces of Booker T & the MG's.
