Jeremiah's Sleepy Night - John Blackwell

Blackwell is a drummer that's best known for his work with Prince, but this tune showcases talents his time with Prince probably didn't. I don't want to waste a lot of words here. Just know that Blackwell has spent time on the road with Justin Timberlake and P. Diddy, among others. He also made an appearance at the 2008 Buddy Rich Memorial Concert. He's got some crazy chops, and he really shows them off here.

The song itself is a cool, smooth jazz kind of groove. I guess you could call it smooth jazz, but it's a little busier than elevator music typically is, so it's more than that. It's not Kenny G; that's for sure. I'm usually not really into this sound, but the Blackwell drew me into that world for at least one tune.
