First, I really don't care for this song in its original format. I just couldn't get into it. I did, however, post a spoof on the song once. I like the melody a lot, but the accompaniment for the original was just too out there for me to get on board with the tune overall. With that said, this is completely different. Between Taylor's drumming and the dubstep filling spots, it's a completely different song. The first time I gave it a listen I heard it through my laptop speakers. Let me warn you that without getting the low-end of the dubstep and the drums, you won't appreciate the mix nearly as much. Taylor is really complimenting what's going on in the song. Plug up to some decent speakers to listen.
I like what Taylor is doing drum wise all around. He's playing off the different parts of the song, accenting the right pieces, doing some flashy stick work (but not over doing it mind you), and most importantly, as I've mentioned before, he's staying true to the song while adding his own spin.
