During the recording session I mentioned in yesterday's post, one of the other player's mentioned this version of George Strait's classic. It was his third #1 and his first music video, too. Foxx's performance above was part of a tribute concert for Strait. You can see from George's reaction he appreciated Jamie's take on the tune. Strait is the definition of smooth in the country world, but Foxx takes it to another, entirely different level here.
While it's a clever play on words, someone can look different when they're in love. I know that from experience. You can look and appear happier to people. Being in love can change the way you approach situations. People often have a big of a "glow" about them when they're in love. Unfortunately, in the instance of this song, the person that's in love is not in love with the one singing. He has to see her with someone else that makes her feel a way that he never could.
