Theme: Power of Love

I've been on both ends of this type of situation. I've asked if we can just be friends, and I've been asked that question. It's not fun, regardless of which side you land on in the discussion. No matter how you cut it, someone is being told that whatever that special something is people share to make them more than friends, it's not there.
Montgomery released the song in '96, and it hit #2 on the charts. The message the song conveys reaches a lot of people, but I think the song itself moves the listener. Montgomery's solid vocal performance and the way the chords lift you into a specific emotion really pull at the heart strings.
This song falls into the theme, even though it may not seem that way. For all the good that love can do in the world, it's also the thing that breaks hearts. It's the reason people feel great and the reason they feel miserable. The best and worst all in one.
