Theme: Power of Love

If I could answer the question that doubles as the title for this song, maybe I could stop being one of those fools. Honestly, I don't think it's a matter of fools falling in love. More likely, it's the act of falling in love that makes you act foolishly. I've seen people do things, act ways, and make up excuses for things that they never would have otherwise, except that they had fallen in love.
The song was released in 1956, during the early years of rock and roll. There has been a lengthy legal debate over who originally wrote the song. Unfortunately, the person that actually wrote the song and the person that gets credit for it aren't always the same, especially in the time when this song was first released.
The group's tenor, Herman Santiago, originally wrote the song as a lead for himself, but during recording Frankie Lymon, who would grow to become a household name, wound up singing the lead based on the suggestion of producer and owner of Gee Recrods. Before all was said and done, Santiago got no credit, and Goldner and Lymon wound up being listed as writers.
While looking for this video on YouTube, I found a television performance of the song by the group. I would've used just it, but the audio quality isn't very good. I do like it for other reasons, though. This is just a vocal group backed by a band with little to no vocal processing or effects, and even though the quality of the recording isn't great, the quality of the group is superb.
