Thank You For Loving Me - Bon Jovi

Theme: Power of Love

This song is one of the band's more recent hits... Actually, as I say that, I realize it's been almost twelve years since its release. Still, in comparison to hits from the eighties, I guess it's still relatively recent. Written by Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora, the song was revealed to be partly inspired by the film Meet Joe Black, which is a cool flick if you've never seen it.

There are lots of times when we just assume that someone knows how we feel. It's never good to assume, but in the instance of your feelings for another person, it's probably the worst assumption you can make to think they know for sure. Tell them again! You never know when you won't have the chance.

One of my favorite quotes goes right along with this line of thought.  In his book, Buddha's Little Instruction Book, Jack Kornfield says, "The trouble is, you think you have time". I've read some debate over what this means exactly, but as I read it, it's simple. Don't assume that tomorrow you'll wake up and have another chance to do what you didn't do yesterday; you never know when you won't have the time you thought you would.
