Theme: Power of Love

I'd never thought about it before, but while looking for songs to put up for this month's theme, I stumbled across this song at the same time I found "What Might Have Been" by the same group and realized how much that song is almost a sequel to this one. I've been a huge fan of both songs and the group for years, I'd just never noticed before now. This song is a song reminiscing on a love once shared. The other is looking at, possibly, the same situation in a more somber, grown-up tone.
I'm a very melancholic person, almost to the point I feel like I should find a melancholics anonymous group. I tend to get hung up on how things used to be. Maybe it's because I can't quite get certain things in my life to fall into place like I'd like for them to be, but whatever the reason, I spend a significant amount of time reliving the good times from my past, and that makes this song hit home.
The band released this song a year before "What Might Have Been", so, my logic makes some sense. Both songs were co-written by lead guitarist Porter Howell, more evidence to my case. The latter of the two songs seemed to connect with people more, though, making it to #2 on the charts, three places above this song's high point.
