Live and Let Die - Wings

This is the second song from the James Bond series to make it into this month's theme. It's probably my favorite Bond theme. It was written by Paul and Linda McCartney and was one of the band's biggest hits, and at the time, it was the most successful theme from the franchise. Paul claims it was one of the pieces he's put the most work in to writing, becuase "writing a song around a title like that's not the easiest thing going".

The song switches styles and tempos three times distinctly. The opening is in a ballad format, which the song reverts to later, the instrumental sections are up-tempo rock, and the bridge has a half-time kind of bounce to it. I think the changes are the part I enjoy most. Having done a marching band show with a James Bond theme in high school, I know for a fact that those changes are what make the song enjoyable to play.
