If you'll click above, you can read the original post that contains this song. I'm skipping a day of my current month's theme to bring you this Jones classic. I do this in honor of the man's life and work. Jones passed away yesterday morning. I can't imagine a more perfect song to accompany the passing of a legend. In the song, Jones doesn't mention himself, obviously; instead, he sings about his idols, past and present. He is one of mine, though, and so the cycle will continue to go.
"Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes" was the title track of Jones's forty-fifth studio album. It was the best-known song from the album, and the video is considered a classic. It won the CMA Award for Video of the year and was a #3 hit on the Hot Country Singles chart. I've posted a few of my other Jones favorites below. His life was filled with so many great songs, it's hard to pick just a couple, but I narrowed it down for this post.
