The Pretender (Foo Fighters drum cover) - Cornel Hrisca-Munn (YouTube)

If something like this doesn't inspire you to keep doing whatever it is you're already doing or to try something you've always wanted to try, I don't know that anything will ever get you moving. To perform this instrument in the way he does can't be easy. So much of the traditional movement of the drumsticks comes from the fulcrum created by your grip on the stick between your thumb and index finger, not to mention the use of your wrist to create and control the stick's rebound. I would wear myself out if every beat I played took full arm movement. This kind of devotion to music speaks a lot to the driving force it is and says more than words could about the human spirit and ability. Munn is defintely a very special and gifted player.

The song is by The Foo Fighters, and was the first single released for the band's 2007 album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. The band has had a few hits over the years and has been successful as touring performers, but this song has been one of their most successful commercial hits. Climbing all the way to #37 on the Hot 100, it was their third Top 40 after "Learn to Fly" and "Best of You".
