March of the Swiss Soldiers from William Tell - Mnozil Brass

I enjoy brass bands a lot. On top of that, I enjoy seeing a good performance of music turned into a good show. These guys absolutely do that. This is great comedic performance and great music altogether. They have a lot of videos on YouTube, so go check them out. Taken directly from Wikipedia, because I think it pretty much nails it: "Monzil Brass in an Austrian brass septet. They play classical, jazz, and other styles of music using traditional brass instruments and more unusual instruments such as the keyed trumpet and Wagner tuba. Music is presented with a typical Austrian style of humor, which can be approximately characterized as "jet black" and "here and there" absurd. Elements of slapstick exist next to virtuosic brass playing."

The piece they're playing is probably instantly recognizable to most listeners, though they do play with the arrangement of the composition some throughout the video. The song comes from the opera, William Tell, with music composed by Gioachino Rossini. This section of the opera, the finale, is sometimes referred to as "March of the Swiss Soldiers." The general population of America may know it more familiarly from its use as the theme song for The Lone Ranger, both on TV and radio. A more traditional arrangement can be heard below.
