I've only posted one other song from this group way back in 2011. That song was "Kryptonite", the first song of theirs that hooked me and a lot of other people. Eight years later, the band released this song, the next one to really grab me. They really are one of those bands that I should listen to their full albums, because Better Life is one of my favorite; I can listen to it in its entirety and like every song, but I'm not that dedicated and tend to get hooked on one song and just stay there.
I still listen to this one regularly, but I'd never seen the video until recently. I like the concept for the shoot a lot. It makes you wonder how this guy knew that the woman in the car was going to be in the wreck. I like to imagine a sort of pre-cognitive sense, one that only works a few minutes into the future showing the person random glimpses of events that are going to happen. That's just my sci-fi imagination running away with me, though.
The song, which shared its name with the album, was released in 2008. It did well on the charts in general. It saw the #17 spot on the Hot 100 and reached #1 on Adult Pop Songs and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. It was the band's eighth single to reach a top ten spot.
