Haunting and somber, Adams' version of this classic by Oasis is my favorite version of the song. I've honestly never listened to Adams' material, and I just happened to hear this one out at a bar once. It wasn't for lack of an impressive career that I never heard his music.
Adams released five albums while with The Cardinals and six solo albums all after leaving his first group, Whiskeytown. After marrying Mandy Moore, he took a break from music, but returned in 2010. He's not only an accomplished performer and songwriter, but he has also produced albums for Willie Nelson and collaborated with Norah Jones, Counting Crows, Weezer and more. He's also released two books, a collection of poems, and a collection of shorts stories and poetry.
This song was originally written by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher who received influence from the George Harrison scored film, Wonderwall Music. This is by far one of the group's most popular songs, still receiving radio play today. It originally made it all the way to #10 on the charts.
