Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke

I'm not a big fan of tunes in this genre generally, but OMG, this song embodies the funk of James Brown or Earth Wind & Fire. It's nuts! I'm listening to it as I write the words your reading, and I can just barely sit still. If you can listen to this song and not move around in your chair, dancing is out of your reach.

The song has not only been #1 on the charts here in the States, but it's also been a hit in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, Lithuania, France, Iceland, Italy, Portugal, and Switzerland. That's a lot of countries! It's the second best selling single in the US, trailing only behind "Thrift Shop". That's pretty impressive for a song that's said to have been written and recorded in one hour.

The title refers to the idea of the "blurred line" between being a good girl or a bad girl, and the groove that drives the music behind that meaning was inspired by Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up". You can check out that song below. I can definitely hear the similarities, but it's not quite a sample of the original...close, but not quite.
