Cups (Pitch Perfect's When I'm Gone) - Anna Kendrick

I'm still in the midst of exploring the charts for new music. I've heard this song around before I went looking, though. Of course, six or seven years ago I was familiar with the beat. The "cups" rhythm has been around for a while. It was only a matter of time before somebody actually incorporated it into a song.

Kendrick became the voice of this most contemporary version while working on the film Pitch Perfect. I became a fan of Kendrick's when watching 50/50. I think she does the song well, and she has a great voice. The song originally comes from a 1931 hit by The Carter Family. Combining the song with the "cups" game first happened in 2009 when the band Lulu and the Lampshades took a swing at it. The original version is a far cry from the above, and I don't much care for it. Just enjoy Kendrick singing the song.
